About Us
Dr. Pamela Carmichael Pitts established the Doris Jean Carmichael Baynes Foundation, Inc. in 2021 as a memorial to her mother. She specified that the foundation’s giving should aid all in the greater awareness for the healthcare and teaching professions.

Therefore our goal is to raise funding that will assist those individuals who are unable to afford the education expenses of pursuing degrees in healthcare and education.

Our mission is to connect people in need of information, advocacy, and financial support
regarding the healthcare and education professions to a community of support by offering free
resources and services that address the need for greater awareness and opportunities in the

Our vision is to ensure all students and community members receive responsive, empowering
services and support that meet their needs, both individual and cultural, through advocacy and
education aimed at providing greater awareness for those who seek career opportunities in the
healthcare and education professions.
